Several Wyoming Valley West players participated in the Whitewater Field Hockey Tournament hosted by KaPow Hockey.

The event was located in Mountaintop and featured teams from Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware with high school, junior varsity and junior high divisions and offered the opportunity for the teams to be viewed by a group of DI, DII and DIII college coaches.

The West Side Rumble (WVW) team combined forces with players from Lake Lehman, Crestwood, Delaware Valley, Dallas and Abington Heights.

The club's debut will take place during the USAFHA's National Hockey Festival in California during November as they will spotlight a U16 and a U19 team at the event.

The United States Field Hockey Association recently held the National Futures Championship in Virginia Beach, Virginia with two representatives from Wyoming Valley West in attendance.
The event features the best players from across the nation and allows the opportunity to not only be viewed by the top college coaches but also earn a spot on a variety of prestigious events through a selection process.
Both Dominique Pasqualichio and Kelcie Hromisin participated and have been selected to continue on as Dominique will be joining the top 3% at the Junior National Camp held at Babson College in Massachusettes and Kelcie will be playing in the Junior Olympics in Iowa in August.

Hromisin won a Gold Medal with her team in the U16 division and worked very hard in the backfield to prevent goals against her team.  She had been featured in an article written by the owner of "Top Of The Circle" as she sparked the defense and showed her quick reflexes and ability to stay calm, cool and collected.
Playing defense was quite a change for Kelcie as she normally plays the forward line not only for Valley West but also for her club teams.  Making the adjustment took seconds though as she has been well trained through indoor.
Within the last few minutes of the Championship game Kelcie was forced to pull out all the stops and become even tougher than usual as she took a ball to the bridge of her nose YET kept playing in order to gain possession of the ball and clear it 3/4 down the field, fending off any further attempts against her team's cage.

Pasqualichio won a Bronze Medal with her team in the U19 division and was featured as a leader on the field and during corners.  When necessary Dominique played defense to secure the team's win and was a powerful shooter up front when the team needed goals. She recorded two goals and three assists during the four day event.
We wish both girls luck in their future ventures.
